Homegoing services for Mr. Rudolph Benjamin Martin, Jr. "Rudy" of 3626 N. 18th Street, who passed away Thursday, January 5, 2011, will be held Wednesday, January 12th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Rev. Oliver Simmons of Flipper Chapel AME Church of Tallahassee, Florida, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rudolph was born July 22, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing ball and watching television. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hattie B. Huff and Mr. and Mrs. John Martin and uncles, George Lewis and Stanley H. Nelson. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted parents, Rudolph Benjamin Martin, Sr. and Ella M. Martin; brother, Duane E. Martin and sister, Dr. Alisia S. Martin Simmons and husband, Dr. Dwelvin L. Simmons; aunts, Ollie M. Lee and family and Pamela Martin; nieces, Jade E. Martin, Adela A. Martin, Ilana M. Simmons and Laila R. Simmons; cousins, Otis Bentley, Allen Bentley, Leroy Bentley, Julia Taylor, Eugene Taylor, Harry Bentley, Joe Taylor, Christine Evans, Justine Scott, Tiffany Nelson, Sarah Delores Nelson, Clifford Nelson, family of Bishop Michael Lewis, family of the late Frank Martin, family of the late Johnny Martin, family of the late Minnie L. Cato, family of the late Theresa Austin and family of the late George H. Lewis; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 11th from 4 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Wednesday, January 12th for the service.
