Rupert E. Edman was born August 31, 1945, in St. Thomas, Jamaica to the late, Ashton and Sarah (Dennis) Edman. "Roy" moved to the United States, Tampa, Florida approximately 50 years ago. He met and married the love of his life, Linda Williams in 1985.

He was a self-employed electrician and served the greater Tampa Bay area for many years. He was a member of the Allen Temple AME Church, where he served as a trustee and head of security; he fervently obliged and served his church with love. Our hearts were broken by the passing of our loved one.

He leaves to celebrate his legacy and cherished memories of him, a devoted wife of 37 years, Linda Edman; daughter, Grace Edman; granddaughter, Petaguay James; 3 great-grandchildren of Coral Springs, FL; brothers, Neil Edman (Sonia) of Palm Beach, FL., and Obediah Dyces of South Carolina; sister, Beatrice "Joy" Edman of Trenton, NJ; sisters-in-law, Sonia Burgher, Ruby Jenkins and Dr. Betty Clark (Ledester); godmother, Pearl Coffee; godson, Tracey Hopkins (Leslie); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, devoted friends, and church family.
