Ruthie was born on July 20, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia she was the daughter of the late, Mrs. Gwendolyn Sistrunk. She moved to Tampa with her mother at an early age and attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. She was an alumni of Plant High School class, of 1973. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, and re-decorating the house. She leaves behind to cherish her, precious memories of her two loving and devoted daughters, Sharlettha and Disaree Marshall; grandchildren, De`Zariyah Richard, Shariyah Holloway, Anesiyah St. Valle, and her great grandchild, Nazir Newkirk; sisters Deborah Lott (Alan), and Sharon Mitchell (Mitch) sister-in-law, Cynthia Bailey; nieces Deborish Bailey, and Andrea Campbell; nephews, Jerome Bailey (Terisha), Robert Young, Jr. Antony Bailey, and Perry Campbell; cousin, Aubrey Lemons; god daughter, La` Tia Settles; and her great friend, Natasha Coonce.
