Homegoing services for Rev. Sam Earl King, Jr. of Riverview, FL who passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco St, Pastor, Bartholomew Banks with Rev. Albert Gallmon, Jr., of Peace Progressive M.B. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Sam Earl King, Jr. was born on March 7, 1952 in Blakely, Georgia. He was a member of Peace Progressive M.B. Church and also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Beta Rho Chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam E. King, Sr. and Eddie Mae King. He leaves to cherish his memories; wife, Carolyn W. King; children, Shaun King (Faith), Cedric King, Candace King and Kevin Starling; grandchildren, Ceniya King, Cedric King, Jr., Ahja King, Destin Starling, Tiera Starling, Kayana Starling, Yana Starling, Kevona Starling and Jusiah Starling; brothers, Rickie King, Sr. (Mayola), Willie James King and Robert King; sister, Evelyn Ashwood (Richard), Gwendolyn Cooley (Edward) and Beverly Sheppard; aunts, Leeo Thomas and Lillie Pearl Noble; uncles, John Mallard and Andrew Thomas; brothers-in-law, Alfred Williams, Jr.(Patricia) and Turner Christian; best friend, Larry Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Peace Progressive M.B. Church, 2607 E. 24th Avenue on Friday from 6-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday for the service.
