Obituary

Samuel was born on April 9, 1988, to Reverend Samuel D. Hendry and Nita Burney. Samuel accepted Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Clearwater, FL where his father Reverend Samuel D. Hendry was the pastor. His father Reverend Samuel D. Hendry preceded him in death. He graduated from Clearwater High School, in June 2006 and went on to become a musician although we were all aware of his God-given talent at the age of five. He later joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the youth choir, youth usher board, and the Mighty Marchers drill team, He was the pianist for the children's church then later became to serve as the pianist in the main sanctuary. Samuel was active as a musician playing the piano for Congress #4 and the first South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association as well as for several local churches for years until he became incapacitated. Samuel enjoyed taking other young musicians under his wings, encouraging, and teaching them. He was a hard worker, dedicated his work as a musician, fun, kind, and loving person.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Nita Burney and stepfather William Burney. Three sisters, Elizabeth Reay (Richard), Nikisha Hendry-Lawson (Delvin), and Deloris Jefferson; stepbrothers, William Burney, and Kylle Burney; grandmother, Dorothy Pollocks and a very special loving and kind second mom Lucille Smith, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. I would like to give special acknowledgment to Felicia Young, Nikisha, and Delvin for all your help and heartfelt thanks to Habana Health Care Center administration/nursing staff and Lifepath Hospice. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28
