Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Sarah Mitchell of Tampa, Florida who passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 will be held Saturday October 12th at 11:00 a.m., Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church, 2909 N Nebraska Avenue, Rev. Bessie Mo-Head of Hood Temple AME Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Sarah Mitchell was born December 19, 1921 to the late Fred Hudson and Clara Bell Jacobs Hudson in Tallahassee, Florida. She was a member of Hood Temple AME Zion Church. Sarah enjoyed cooking, homemaking, caring for children, singing in the choir and visiting the sick. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Mitchell, Sr. and daughters, Rosa Lee Faison and Gloria Hicks. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with children, Mary Vesta, Eloise Smith, Richard Mitchell, Jr. (Theresa), Phette Mitchell, Vernon Mitchell (Rose), Cynthia Fayson (Carl) and Clara Russell (Leroy); 16 granchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; 10 cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Hood Temple AME Zion Church, 3608 N. 26th street on Friday, October 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church on Saturday for the service.
