Homegoing Services for Mrs. Sarah Nottingham of Brandon, Florida who made her transition from her earthly vessel on Sunday, November 16, 2014, will be held Saturday, November 22nd, 2:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Larry Roundtree II, pastor with Rev. Samuel Mason, eulogist. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Sarah was born to Bessie Gamble and A. C King on October 30, 1945 in Mobile Alabama one of ten children. She was educated in the state of Alabama and later moved to Florida. Sis. Nottingham accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and lived a life worthy of her calling, not just her duties to the church, but she spent many fulfilling years taking care of children in her home. Sis. Nottingham last church membership was Galilee Baptist Church in Tampa. Sis. Nottingham left a legacy that will continue to live on in her children a woman of God that stood for righteousness and love of family. She loved watching WWE Wrestling & Judge Judy. Sarah's favorite soap operas were the Bold & Beautiful, Young and the Restless, and General Hospital. She took great pride in cooking for the family events, she looked forward to a good game of dominos, and not many could beat her. Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Gamble and father, A.C. King; sisters, Hattie Dial, Annie Mae; brother, JD Jones and sister, Lula Mae Mason. Sarah leaves to mourn: two daughters, Vivian Nottingham (Darrell) and Vanita Nottingham (Christina); six grandchildren, Keyana Nottingham, Corbin Nottingham, Micaela Nottingham (Juan), Ravin Nottingham (Amber), Cezarrio Nottingham and DeAndre Arroyo; three great grandchildren, Dreshon Vereen, Keyarah Vereen, Isis Nottingham; three brothers, Rev. L.B Jones and wife, Evangelist Bobbie Jones, Sam Jones of North Carolina, and Allen Jones; two sisters, Barbara Sams and husband, Larger and Lessie Baymon. Sarah; special friends, Mary Alice Hawkins, Wanda Solomon, Stella Arroyo Lonnie Candis (godbrother), Dorothy Candis (godsister), Robert "Roscoe" Candis (godbrother); and host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Sarah was loved by everyone who knew her, she will be missed. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
