Celebration of Life for Ms. Sharon Y. Hawkins of Tampa who, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Walter J. Williams, Pastor with Rev. Frank Williams, pastor of Paradise M.B. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Ms. Sharon Y. Hawkins was born September 1, 1958 in Newark, N.J. She moved to Tampa, FL in 2004. After moving to Tampa, FL, she became employed with the Salvation Army for 5 years and also worked for Women to Women until her passing. Sharon enjoyed traveling and taking care of children. She was a very giving person and always kept a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carrie Lee Rodgers; step-father, Milton Hardy and nephew, Fahkir Hardy. She leaves to cherish her memories; devoted mother, Mary L. Williams Hardy; father, Arney Lucas and stepmother, Christine Lucas; 5 sisters, Diane Hardy, Gwendolyn Graham (Carl), Laverne Lynn Madir (Aaron), Tammi Hardy and Mssavaghaa Davis; 2 brothers, Arney Lucas, Jr. and Marvin Lucas; uncles, Rev. Frank Williams (Betty) and David Williams; aunts, Elizabeth Powell, Geneva Stephenson (Oliver), Lucy Ward (Jimmy), Beatrice Hurte, Patricia Johnson (Williams), Rev. Dorothy Sanders, Mary Williams and Mildred Greene; nephews, Linale Hardy, Kareem Hardy, Kyshan Johnson (Senovia), Tariq Hardy, Kristian Hardy, Kelijha Hardy and Corey Long, Jr.; nieces, Quiana Johnson, Shareem Hardy, Shabriah Graham, and Tytiana Hardy; grandnieces, Ty'kea Hardy, Alana Hardy and Shila Johnson; grandnephews; Stefon Hardy, Fahkir Hardy, Jr., Linale Hardy, Jr., Darius Hardy and Kyshan Johnson, Jr; and a host of other relatives, cousins and special friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 20th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Church for the service on Saturday.
