Obituary

Homegoing service for Mrs. Shirley Ann Freeman of 2412 A E. Columbus Dr., who passed away, Monday, August 24, 2009, will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2:00 p.m., NorthEast United Methodist Church, 6400 N. 15th Street, Pastor Florence Para, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Shirley Ann Freeman was born July 19, 1947 in Donalsonville, Georgia. She was educated in the Hillsborough County School District, graduating from Middleton High School. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior and remained faithful until death. Mrs. Freeman spent the early portion of her life working as a secretary at Pitney Bowls office supply company. She always took the time to call and put a smile on your face and if she didn't say anything else to you she always made sure that her last words to you were, "I love you". She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Walter Freeman, Jr. and Mrs. Willie Maude Couzens. She leaves to share and cherish loving memories: husband, John Hendrix; aunt, Ms. Lucy Nell St. Clair, Tampa; uncle, Mr. George Wynn, Tampa; daughter, Ms. Rhonda Hutchins; 2 step-daughters, Ms. Alison Whitehead and Ms. Arika Sherman; 6 grandchildren, Miss. Ro'Tonda Huthcins, Mr. Julius Hutchins, Miss. Quanda Hutchins, Mr. Devin Hill, Miss De'Onda Hill and Mr. Derex Hill; 2 step-grandchildren, Miss. Zoya Whitehead and Mr. Christian Sherman; 1 great granddaughter, Skyla Kennedy; 9 brothers and sisters from her mother's side, Mr. Walter Freeman and wife, Ella Jean of Macedonia, OH, Mr. Larry Freeman and wife, Moris of Jakin, GA, Angelo Freeman and wife, Rose of Cleawater, FL, Ms. Francelia Rodriguez, Ms. Regina Glenn, Mr. Jerry Couzens and wife, Lois, Mr. Juan Couzens and wife, Juanita, all of Tampa, Mr. Jeffery Couzens of National City, CA; and 9 brothers and sisters of her father's side as well; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. The remains will repose on Friday at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church.
