Ms. Shirley Mae Gadson also known as "Ms. Good" and "Ms. Dot" was born on August 19, 1947, in Beaufort, SC to the late Francis Moultrie and Naomi G. Bruce. She left South Carolina in 1956 to move to Lake Placid, FL, where she attended public schools. She later moved to Tampa, FL in 1963, and graduated from Middleton High School. She was last employed as a home care specialist.

"Ms. Good" enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and dancing, but most of all she loved caring for others. Shirley was preceded in death by parents, Francis Moultrie and Naomi G. Bruce; stepfather, Irvin Bruce; son, Henry James Gadson; brothers, Howard L Gadson, and Micheal Bruce; sister, Debora Hill Scott and granddaughter, Danessa Gadson. She leaves behind cherished memories to her daughters, Marlene Gadson (Jerome), Sheila Gadson, and Yolonda Harris; sons, Denziel and Kenneth Gadson; sisters and brothers, Joann and Ishmael Dunkley, Carol Fraizer, Pasty, Keith Bruce (Renee), Naomi Bruce (Bill), Joseph Bruce all of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Rosa Bruce, Sheila, Marshall White, Sonia, Gerald and Thelma Moultrie, all of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Rita Rhanes, Lisa Gadson, Dana Patton (Andrew), Keith Bruce, Jr., (Dee Dee), Priscilla Johnson, Amida Hardson (Ernest), Monique McPhaul, Marquita West, Marquis, Nikya and Plykesia Bruce, Telli Aydelotte and Dorthea, and Gregory Hill; grandchildren, Dominick and Darryl Gadson, Kay Gill (Stephen), Kelvon Powell, Robert Paschall, Earl Grant (Fantasia) special friends, Loveria (Mickey) Garrett, Dorothy and Perry Boyd, Debbie Lather and Jacqueline Steele; and a host of other relatives and friends.
