Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Shirley Sullivan Norman of Tampa, who passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015, will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 11:00 a.m. at Faith Life Church, 2702 E. Bearass Ave, Rev. Jane Hillman-McDonnough, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Shirley was born August 4, 1939 in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Shirley was raised in New York City and graduated from New Schools Fashion. She enjoyed going to church and was a faithful member of Faith Life Church. She was a dietician for many years before retiring. Shirley also committed her time as a volunteer with the Sarcoidosis Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents; the late George Redmond, Sr. and Jannie Sullivan. She leaves to cherish her memory with her dedicated companion of 36 years, Fred Wright; her loving and devoted children, Michele N. Whittington, Daniel W. Norman, Jr. and Diab Numan; stepchildren, Terence Davis, Michael Hampton and Malik Norman; grandchildren; Teree Smith and fiancAC., Lily, Derriell Janean Numan, Kanavis Whittington and Deniseshia Janae Numan; great grandchildren, Ilena Hall, Teree Smith, Jr., Carter Saddiq Numan and Iree Smith; brothers, George Redmond, Robert Redmond and Al Redmond; brother-in-law, Charles Thomas Norman; sisters, Kirby Abdoulaye, Joellen Miller, Louise Glenn and Edith Redmond; sisters-in-law, Janie Lucille Norman, Ruthel Rader and Annie Pearl Norman; aunt, Daisy Chapman; a host of nieces and nephews including, Rhonda Jackson, Delvin Smith (Shawn), Elliott Norman (Diana), Nelson Smith, Gaynard Smith and Ashley Huggins; and a host of other cousins and other relatives; special friends through the years, Daniel Norman, Sr., (Sylvia), Earnestine Carlton, Barbara Jackson, Betty Battle, Joe and Cecilia Cambridge, Don Wright, Tina Frasier, Yvonne Yeoman, Coach Wright, Ivette Wright and Yvonne Wright, Workman family, Chapman family, Carolyn Burgess and Ralph Sullivan; godchildren and Kachina Debbie, Nishant Saybien. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 6th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
