Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Sis. Sally Lee Wells of Tampa, Florida passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2:00 p.m. at Good News Baptist Church, 2314 N. Jefferson St., Pastor Earl C. Kelly, officiating with Apostle J.L. Cash of Kingdom Workers International Ministries, eulogist. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born on November 30, 1940 in Gholston, North Carolina. She was a long time member of Good News Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, listening to gospel and country music. When asked how she was doing she would always respond, 'I'm striving' and she also loved to say, 'I love you sea deep and ocean wide'. The Tampa Bay Rays were her favorite sports team. Sally was preceded in death by her mother, Eliza Jane Crecy; son, Donald Crecy; sisters, Blanche and Mary Crecy; brothers, Paul and Marvin Crecy; nephew, Jerry Crecy; niece, Jackie Crecy; and great great grandchild, Delilah Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Carl Crecy (Terry), Evelyn Williams (Joseph), Winifred Williams (Bernard), Bishop Rodney Crecy (Diane) and Beverly Crecy (Charlette); grandchildren, Chrishonna Gainey, Terika Haynes (Orlando), Carl Crecy, Jr., Terry Crecy, Jimeka Hicks, Courtney Mathis (Andrean), Garvey Lubin (Alex), Laukisha Crecy (Mark), Brian Crecy (Kesha), Cory Crecy, Trenicha Jackson (Kris), LaWanda Cummings, LaTonya Crecy (Jerome), Winnetta Cummings, Ezekiel Crecy-Price, Sekitha Crecy-Donnell (Kenneth), Quentin Crecy (Stacy), Melanie Crecy, Travis Lewis and Tiffany Crecy; 60 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Godwin; nieces, Angeline Hill (Perry), Valarie Stroud and Jennifer Simmons; nephews, Michael William Crecy (Yolanda), Jessie Crecy (JoAnne), James Warren Crecy, Christopher Godwin (Ayana), Marcus Godwin (Tara), Steven Godwin and Alexander Godwin; best-friend, Evelyn Kemp Conaway, Willie Wells and family and Bro.William and Sis. Rose Davis; friends and neighbors, Billie and Mike Allen, Todd Hittmeier, and Suzie Jeffrey; and the Good News Baptist Church family; and a host of other sorrowing and relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. during the wake service. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
