Sonya L. McFarland was born September 3, 1963, to the late Doris Baldwin and Edward J. Graddy, in Tampa, Florida. She received her education in the schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1981. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Baldwin and grandson, Jon Anthony Rorie. In May 1992, Sonya met and married Brice McFarland. Sonya worked as a medical secretary at the Medical Library at MacDill Air Force Base. Then she worked as a medical billing clerk at Doctor's Walk-In Clinic. She retired from the Tampa Housing Authority due to her health. Sonya enjoyed singing, puzzles, watching movies and reading books. Sonya lived life and she will truly be missed by her family and friends. She leaves loving memories with her beloved husband, Brice McFarland, her devoted daughter, Netessia L. Rorie; son, Anthony J. McFarland; grandchildren, Ja'Nya C. Austin, Natasja L. Rorie, and Navon L. Rorie; brothers, William "Jerry" Harris, Freddie "Ben" (Janet) Graddy, Irvin (Tiika) Preston, Edward Graddy, Jr., and Lamont (Keisha) Baldwin; sisters, Jonisha Graddy, Minnie Graddy and Carrisha Graddy; aunts, Thelma (Roosevelt) Hill, Essie Jolliff, Sharon (Rodney) Peterson, Rubeye Graddy and Hazel Graddy; uncles, John (Allie) Harris, Clifford (Dorothy) Lee, and Alphonso (Linda) Lee; special nieces, Tanisha Graddy and Porschea (John) Brewer; special nephews, Jordan (Brittany) Ingram and Anthony "Professor" Graddy; special cousin, Alexandrina Jolliff; childhood friend, Theresa Sims; good friend, Daphaney Dixon; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
