Spring Shandon White was born Friday, June 7, 1957 in Sanford, Florida to the late Thomas and Corine 'Jackie' White. Spring moved to Tampa, Florida with her family at an early age. Spring is the 7th child, 4th daughter in a family of 9 children. She attended Hillsborough County public schools. Later, Spring joined Job Corp obtaining a Certificate of Master Welder. During the late 70s, she lived in Albany, Georgia then moved to Northern Virginia in the Washington, DC area. Spring returned to Tampa to reside in the Belmont Heights Community where she touched many of people hearts. Spring worked mostly in the hospitality and as a laborer. Spring had a strong sense of family. She enjoyed family and friends. We remember special times with Spring: laughing over Richard Pryor jokes, eating fish and crab with the skills of a cat, braiding your hair too tight, playing cards like her mama taught her, cooking delicious foods and enjoying the holidays. We will truly miss her laugher and presence on and off a softball field. Monday, July 10, 2017 at 4:15 a.m., Spring died at the age of 60 at the Melech Hospice House, Tampa, Florida. After a long struggle with illness, she is survived by her son, Jovote J. Surcy and wife Jessica, Seattle, Washington and daughter, Shandann C. White, Brandon, Florida. Spring was preceded in death by her siblings George H. Smith, Bonita D. White, and Helen E. Mensah. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Two brothers Johnnie Smith and wife, Dora and Rickey Smith and wife Patricia: Three sisters, Maxine Robinson and husband Clarence, Alice White, and Lexxie Myrick, all of Tampa, FL; Uncle, Menzion Smith and wife Jackie, Philadelphia, PA; Four aunts, Bessie Lawson, Tampa, FL, Florine O'Neil, Estella Williams and husband Wilburt and Ada Dennis of Sanford, FL, united sister Donna Sanders, 17 nieces and nephews, Sonia Echols, Johnnie Smith, Jr., and wife, Grace, George Smith, Jabar Smith, Justin Smith and wife, Latee, Aja Johnson and husband Robert, Tenesha Smith, Tiffany Smith, Allison Poole and husband, Brain, Antonio Braxton and wife, Kim, Brandi Foster and husband, Raymond, Astin Shellman, Jarvis White, Tampa, FL, Marvis Norwood and wife Amanda, St. Petersburg, FL, Travis Norwood, Brooksville, FL and Jerry Daniels and wife Johana, Daytona Beach, FL, A'islyn Coney, Ronald Myrick, Jr., Celese Moss and husband Christopher, Lyndon Dallas, Jr. and wife, Valerie, Jessica Bennette and husband, Terrence and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
