Homegoing services for Mr. Stanford Lamar Shaw of Tampa who passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, will be held on Saturday, October 8th , 11:00 a.m., New Friendship M.B. Church, 3201 E Lake Ave., Rev. H.L. Daniels, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Stanford Shaw the son of the late Wesley and Jessie M. Shaw - McGee was born April 29, 1951 in Eupora, Mississippi. He attended the public schools in Webster County, Mississippi and at the age of 20 moved to Polk County, Florida with his mother and siblings. Stanford united with New Bethel M.B church where he was licensed as a minister on May 31, 1995 under Pastor Frank O' Harrell; he later joined St. Mark Lee M.B church and was ordained by the late Pastor Otha Lee Jones on September 17, 1995. Rev. Stanford Shaw served as associate pastor of New Rising Star MB church under Rev. Sam McClendon, where he later became pastor. He later joined New Friendship MB church under the leadership of Rev. H.L. Daniels until he went to his external home. Stanford was preceded in death by brothers, Benny and Roosevelt Shaw. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife Gloria High-Shaw; four sons, Sean, Donnie, Jeyalin and Steven; daughter, La Donna; special mother-in-law, Bertha Fleming; sister, Mary Patterson; four brothers, Wesley, Lesley, Johnny and James Shaw, all of Winter Haven, FL; a special uncle, Rev. Norman Shaw (Dale) of Dallas, TX; aunts, Clara Mister of Duck Hill, MS and Lusendy McClain of Stewart, MS;sisters-in-law, Malinda Robinson(Cecil) and Christina Young (Chris);a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and, many, many friends. The viewing will be held on Friday October 7, 2011 5p.m. to 8p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the church 3201 E Lake Avenue on Saturday for services at 10:45 a.m. the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
