A homegoing celebration for Mr. Stanley T. Turner of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 will be held Saturday, June 24th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Dr. Samuel Maxwell, Sr, Senior Teaching Pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Stanley T. Turner was born to the union of Mr. Essic Turner and Carrie Lee Corbin on March 12, 1927. He was educated in the school system of Reynolds, GA. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village and a member of the #1 usher board. He was a longtime resident of the Progress Village community area. He was preceded in death by his five brothers and three sister, Emmett, Grady, James Lamar, Charlie, and Willie Corbin and Annie Lee Ethriedge, Lizzie Gaston and Minnie Ray Montford. He leaves to mourn his wife, Ernestine Turner and six children from previous marriage, Essic Turner and Charlotte Mathis (Lawrence); primary caregivers, Larry Turner, Cheryl Hamilton, Carolyn Turner Perkins all of Tampa, FL and Eugenia Turner of Fayetteville, NC; six step children, Berthenia Lamb (Otis) of Ft. Worth, TX, Veronica Jones-Johnson (Larry) of Fayetteville, GA, Robert Bell (Loreta) of Sacramento, CA; Don Simmons, Sr. (Maryann) of Lewisville, TX, Ernest Jones (Sylvia) of Newport News, VA and Michael Jones (Sharlene) of Denton, TX; four sisters-in-law, Minnie Langston, Wilma Shivers of Los Angles, CA Eloise Griffin, and Corine Daniely; two special nephews, James Robert Corbin and Khord Dennis; one special niece, Dean Walker (Solomon); cousin, Rosa McGhee; a host of grands and great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
