General State Mother Susie Mae Grubbs was born on July 19, 1951, in Tampa, Florida. She was a devoted woman of God whose life was a testimony of unwavering faith, selfless service, and unconditional love. In 1971, Susie Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of faithful ministry. As she grew in her walk with God, she was ordained as an Evangelist and Lay Elder, and was later honored with the distinguished title of General State Mother in recognition of her spiritual leadership, wisdom and dedication to the Kingdom of God. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God, where the late R.F. Coleman was the founder and the late Deaconess Addie Mitchell was a faithful member. General State Mother Grubbs was richly blessed with the gifts of preaching the Gospel and the gift of prophecy, faithfully using them to encourage, strengthen and uplift countless lives. A true servant of the Lord, she faithfully carried out many responsibilities within the church. She organized and led women's meetings, assisted with church finances, helped maintain the cleanliness of the Lord's house, and joyfully served wherever there was a need. She was truly one of a kind; always present when someone needed a listening ear, a comforting word, or a heartfelt prayer. Her kindness, compassion and unwavering faith made her a pillar of strength to her family, church and community. Beyond her ministry, General State Mother Grubbs enjoyed traveling and spending time with those she loved. Among her greatest earthly blessings were her beloved daughter, Cassandra, and her cherished marriage to Willie Grubbs, with whom she shared 46 years of faithful love, partnership, and devotion. Their marriage was a beautiful reflection of commitment, perseverance and God's enduring grace. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Deaconess Addie Lee Mitchell; aunt, Bishop Angeline Patterson; and a host of loving uncles. 

She leaves cherished memories to her husband, Willie Grubbs; daughter, Cassandra Mitchell; grandchildren, Julia (Josh) Whitaker-Allen, Julenna Whitaker and Denesha Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Samaria Whitaker, Ashyton Shaw, Aaleyah Allen, Qweston Garrett, Janylah Penny, Jamar Penny and Qayyarah Garrett; great-great grandson, Ivan Vasquez; spiritual daughter, Lawanda Lock; godson, Joseph Lock; and host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins. As we celebrate her extraordinary life, we will forever remember the words she so often shared: "You keep looking up." Those simple yet powerful words perfectly reflected her faith and served as a constant reminder to trust God, remain hopeful, and keep our eyes fixed on Him through every season of life. Though she now rests in the presence of her Savior, her legacy will continue to encourage us to keep looking up until we meet again.
