Obituary

Slyvester Rodgers, affectionally known as, "Sandy", was born on August 24, 1953, to the late Jessie Rodgers, Sr. and Josephine Rodgers, in Banks, Alabama. He moved to Tampa, Florida, at an early age and was educated in the Hillsborough County School System where he attended Middleton High School, and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1972. He transitioned peacefully from this life on October 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Rebirth Missionary Baptist Church.

Slyvester was a devoted father and brother, who enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and western shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Josephine Rodgers; sister, Sara Bolden; brother, James Earl Rodgers; nephew, Kenneth Faison; and brother-in-law; Jimmy White, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: to his sons, Antron Rodgers (Kewannie), Keith Anderson (Shanta); Daughter, Zoee Rodgers; grandchildren, Harmoni Rodgers, Niki Anderson, Tianna Anderson, Justin Anderson, Jordan Anderson, and Denarick Anderson; brothers, Jessie Rodgers, (Shirley), and Knox Rodgers (Nakia); Sisters, Annie White, Dorothy Ellison (Alphonza), Gloria Jacobs (Alton), and Mary Jackson (Earl), his caregiver, Tangie Lindsey, special friend and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. We would like to extend a special thanks to Fresenius Kidney Care and staff, and St. Joseph Hospital doctors, nurses and staff.
