Obituary

Sylvester Brown, Sr. was born September 12, 1950, in Tampa, FL, to the late Willie and Elizabeth Brown. He attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. He was employed as a truck driver for many years before retiring from Robbins Lumber. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, laughing and always having a joke to tell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elizabeth Brown; brother, Alfred Brown; sisters, Rebecca Brown-Crawford, Nettie Mae Crawford; and Janie Charies; five brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; two nephews; two nieces; and great-niece, Adriana Vickers.

He leaves his everlasting memories to his wife of55 years, Dorris Lee Ponder-Brown; sons, Anthony (Susan) and Sylvester; daughters, Renita (Travis), Celeste (Kal), and Patricia; sister, Pastor Bertha Young (Prophet); grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Anquan, Shelly, Destiny, Latrell, Sylvester, Laquita, Tonio (Char'Vanette), Tyesha, Jada, Zi'yon, Kimora, Denario, Izzy, Whitney, Shaquille, and Malique; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Velma Brown; a host of nieces and nephews, Mary (Trent), Tricia, Rena, Peggy, Linda, Willie, William, Joseph, Adrian, Clarence (Florence), Ronnie, Apostle Tony Woods (Prophetess Sharena), Gwen, Demetria, Andrea, Bryant (Crystal), Courtney, Aaron, Rodney, Meoshia, Kisha, Kristiania, Eric, Willie, Bonnita, Tamika, Ricky (Rhonda), Dimples, David (Shenita), Michael, Michelle, Lisa, and Angie; a host of other great-nieces and nephews; special cousins, Sarah Houston, David Houston, Lucille Houston; special friends, Willie Tolbert, McArthur Comer, Earline Williams, Karen Williams, and Fred Brown.
