Homegoing services for Mrs. Tabatha Kay Thorpe of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014, will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Dr. Jomo Cousins, officiating. Interment will be in Barrancas National Cemetery Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Tabatha was born August 5, 1966 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Dorothy Soles Jackson and Laurence O. Jackson, Jr. She attended the schools of Pensacola, Florida graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1984. She also attended Pensacola Junior College. She was a member of First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida and Love First Christian Center, Tampa, Florida. Tabatha enjoyed cooking, baking and title boxing. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmothers, Fannie Soles and Bessie Jackson, brothers, Eric Johnson, Sr., and Laurence O. Jackson III, aunt, Julia Westbrooks and mother-in-law, Alice Mae Charles. She leaves to cherish her loving memories with devoted husband, James Henry Thorpe IV; children, August Lett, Zachery Thorpe, Spencer Thorpe, Karina Thorpe Kollore and James Henry Thorpe V; grandson, Elijah James Thorpe; brothers, Charles Jackson and Jeffrey Jackson; sister, Charmaine Jackson Barnett; niece, Taniqua Hunter; nephew, Trevon Johnson; father-in-law, Widner Charles; brothers-in-law, Clayton J. Barnett and Edward Hawkins and sister-in-law, Towanna Hawkins; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held (1) one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, April16th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Wednesday for the services.
