Homegoing services for Mr. Talvin Bowman, Jr., "Pop" of 5004 N. 19th Street, Apt. 4, who passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 will be held Saturday, May 23rd, 2:00 p.m., Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Rev. Dr. Willie Williams, officiating with Pastor Ivan Cutts of Massachusetts, eulogist. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Talvin was born on October 20, 1954 in Tampa, Florida. He was employed by the City of Tampa, Waste Water Treatment Plant for 12 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all he encountered and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by Talvin Bowman, Sr., Ruth and Joe Cherry, Annie Kate and Calvin Bowman, Sr., Fannie and Elmer Williams, James Cutts, Elijah and William Ellis, Carrie Faulkner, Kimberly Carr, Lynn and Brittany Davis and Jeannie Wilkerson. He leaves the only true love of their lives, Darlene Shackleton; 2 devoted daughters, Tiffine Bowman (Eric) and Shannon Wilkerson; 1 son, Alfredo Bowman, Sr.; 2 granddaughters, Ashley and Derriayna Bowman; 2 grandsons, Eric Davis and Alfredo Bowman, Jr.; mother, Gloria Bowman (Isiah Keefer); stepmother, Betty Jean Waters; brothers, Anthony and Donald Bowman and Maurice (Sharon), all of Tampa, Lt. Eric Bowman (Holly), Tampa, FL, Ronnie Daniels, Cinncinatti, OH, Carl Carr, Vincent Carr, of Alabama; sisters, Julia Wright, Ilona Young (Aaron), Sylvia Williams (Terrence), Veronica Young, Patricia Pasiley (Wadie) all of Tampa, Vivian Bowman and Janice Bowman, of St. Petersburg, FL; uncles, Ben McCleadon of Nashville, TN, Rebuean Cherry, Tampa; aunts, Gwendolyn Fields (Mike), Cynthia Reeves, Patricia Strawder (Kim), Adell Robinson and Doris Callaway of White Plains, NY, Fannie Wilson of Norwalk, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends and family, Joy, Lee, Moses, Judy, Alfred Rush, Robert Williams, Thelma Green and family, Mary Brown and family, Cheryl Young and family, Lampkins family, Darryl Patterson and family, Diane Gainer and family, Wooden family, Yvonne Roebuck and family and Cheryl Jones. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, May 22, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. for the service.
