Tamara May peacefully transitioned to eternal rest in the early hours of Friday, February 14, 2025, reuniting with her mother, Earnestine May, and her beloved grandmother, Zena May. Affectionately known as "Tammi", she was born on November 26, 1967, to the late Earnestine May. Tammi attended Hillsborough County schools, graduating from Tampa Bay Technical High School. Tammi dedicated 30 years to the Tampa Police Department before retiring. She also worked for Hillsborough County schools as a special needs bus attendant. She was actively employed with Maximus Federal for the last six years. She had an immense love for her family. As a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her granddaughters, Aevri and Jaeda.

She joins in heaven, her mother, Earnestine May; grandmother, Zena May; aunt, Barbara May Thomas (Shannon). Tamara leaves behind cherished memories for her sons, Anthony L. Dexter, and Gary Menifield II (Tyra); sister and devoted caregiver, Chisara Felder. She cherished her granddaughters, Aevri N. Menifield and Jaeda M. Menifield. Her legacy also includes nieces, Zayeera C. James (Bryant), and Yulandria A. Gilchrist; aunt, Curtestine M. Boardley (James); cousins, Zena Boardley, Angela Boardley, and Shannon Thomas III. She is also remembered by a host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors too numerous to mention but not forgotten.
