Obituary

Mrs. Tanya V. Arnett was born on March 27th, 1976, to Jacob Davis and Barbara (ne Johnson) Davis, in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Tanya was the fifth of seven children born to Barbara Davis or the magnificent seven as she affectionately referred to her children. Tanya or "Yaya" was a rambunctious youngster who filled the house with joy together with her partner in trouble Pedro, her immediate older brother. Tanya received her early education at Hawksbill Primary School and later attended Hawksbill High School before transferring to, and graduating from St Pauls College in 1993. After graduating, she immediately started working at Guerlain Western Hemisphere, the first of successive jobs she held over the years which also included sanitation services, Kellys, the National Insurance Board, all in Freeport, Grand Bahama, the Bahamas, and later, at Zeno Office Solutions, Dobbs Equipment and GLT Total Office in Tampa, FL. On April 9th, 1995, Tanya gave birth to her first darling, a bouncing baby boy, Kevin Ewing Jr. Kev was Tanyas everything, relying on each other for spiritual and moral strength. Schavado Arnett Sr, a native of the Bahamas, first met Tanya when they both attended Hawksbill High School and rekindled their romance in early 2000, on one of his visits to Grand Bahama. They later married on March 25th, 2011, on one of the beautiful beaches of Freeport, Grand Bahama. They moved to Tampa, Florida, shortly thereafter to start their life together. The following year, on March 27th, 2012, Tanya was given the best birthday gift any parent could hope for, the birth of her second son, Schavado Jr. In 2020, Tanya became a stay-at-home mother/wife and devoted her life to caring for her husband and her young son. She was very involved in Schavado Jrs. school community and would volunteer at the Moffitts Cancer Center on the weekends. She found her fun and relaxation by taking up DIY projects around the house and cooking her favorite Bahamian recipes. Tanya spent the last 3 years of her life giving her love selflessly to others and most importantly, to her family. Late into the afternoon on September 2nd, 2023, Tanya was called to glory by the Lord to be rewarded for a job well done while on this earthly realm. Testaments of her countless acts of love and selflessness will continue to live on through her husband, sons and in the hearts of her family, and the many who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Davis; brother-in-law, Glen Young.

She leaves behind precious memories of her loving husband, Schavado Arnett, Sr.; mother, Barbara Davis; sons, Kevin Ewing, Jr., and Schavado Arnett, Jr.; brothers, Lyndon (Elva), Patrick Davis, Gregory ( Kim), and Pedro Davis (Nordia); sisters, Jasmine Davis and Samantha Young; brothers-in-law, Stephen Brown, Wendell and Kemo Ramsey; sisters-in-law, Portia Brown, Dellerise and Nathalie Ramsey; nephews, Giovanni Davis, Lyndon Davis, Jr., Navah (Grace), William Davis, Kenneth Fountain III, Samuel Young, and Zamere Davis; nieces, Grier Davis, Liyah Forbes (Sidney III), Ebony Maycock, Gabrielle Saunders, Samyah Young, Zainya Davis, Tarez, and Shandeira; uncles and aunts; Hansel Johnson (Norma), Edwin, Alfred, and Wendall Johnson (Thelma), Garfield Johnson.
