Homegoing services for Mrs. Thelma Clark Turner of 2207 N. 12th Street who passed away, Saturday, November 21, 2009, will be held today, Wednesday, November 25th, 10:00 a.m., Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Father Hugh officiating. The interment will follow. Mrs. Turner was born January 23, 1929 in Tampa, Florida. She loved to care for others and her beloved dog, "Lady". Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon "Toosie" Turner, mother, Ruth Lee Gage and sister, Mildred "Penepop" Burney. She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Dorothy Clark of New York and Josephine Barton; nieces, Mae Shirley Armstrong of New York and Debra Jackson and family; nephews, Albert Nixon, Jr. of North Carolina, Trenton Hattton of New York and Eddie Gray, Jr.; grandnieces, Joy Armstrong and Mya Nixon of North Carolina; grandnephew, Albert Nixon, III; devoted friend, Raul Correa, sisters-in-law, Viola Davis and Annie L. Turner; nieces-in-law, Bea Malone and husband, Ralph, Rose Austin and husband, Leon; nephew-in-law, Lee Davis; devoted friends, Leila Washington and Jody and family. The viewing was held on Tuesday, November 24th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the gravesite for the service on Wednesday.
