Theo was born on June 21, 1958, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, to Lewis Wade and Velma Steward.

His favorite activities were fishing, boating, hunting, and dancing. He was an avid dog lover and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football. He was married to the love of his life for 44 years. He was a retired truck driver. His laughter could brighten anyones day. If you ever needed advice, he was there to be a listening ear, but be prepared to receive a dose of reality.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Arthur Clarke.

He leaves precious memories with his wife, Brenda Smith; children, Detrick Clarke, Sr. (Ashley), Roneesha Covington (Mario), Theolanda Haywood (Randolph), and Theois Smith (Toni); parents, Lewis Wade and Velma Steward; grandchildren, Shameka, Detrick, Jr., Deon, KayJay, Tyree, Kendrick, Demarien, Dallas, MarKayla, Riley, and Carter; great-grandchildren, Amariana, Amyla, Jakayla, Jakyla, and Kenecia; brother, Marty Steward; sisters, Barbara Johnson, Dorothy Smith, Jackie Jones (Herbert), and Elaine Steward; mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Garvin; brother-in-law, Tommie Clarke ( Paula); sister-in-law, Ruthie Clarke; and other loving cousins, relatives and friends.
