Ms. Theresa Delancy, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Plant City, Florida. Born on March 2, 1932, in Tampa, Florida, Theresa lived a long vibrant life marked by resilience, family devotion, and a passion for cooking.

Theresa graduated from Middleton Senior High School in Tampa, Florida. After completing her education, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue work opportunities and to be near her aunts and older sister. Her time in Boston was a formative chapter in her life, filled with new experiences and cherished family connections.

Years later, Theresa returned to her hometown of Tampa, where she worked for Tropicana. She remained deeply connected to her roots and found joy in the simple pleasures of life--especially those that brought people together. Family gatherings were among her favorite occasions; she delighted in preparing meals for loved ones and sharing the warmth of her kitchen with all who entered it.

Theresa enjoyed watching cooking shows on the Food Network, reading magazines and the newspaper to stay informed and inspired, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, attending fashion shows, and participating in social gatherings. Her sweet potato pies became legendary among those who knew her--a symbol of both her culinary skills and the love she poured into everything she did. Theresa will be remembered for her go-getter personality and the joy she brought to others through her cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Delancy; mother, Mittie Mae Tabor (Murphy); and sisters, Maurice Green, Eloise Leek, and Beatrice Rodriguez.

She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward her memory with love.
