Homegoing Services for Mr. Thomas Hill "Tommy" of 1014 E. Okaloosa Avenue who passed away, Monday, May 11, 2009, will be held, Saturday May 23, 2009, 11:00 a.m., Bethel A.M.E. Church, 5001 W. Cumberland Street, Pastor Beverly Lane, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Tommy Hill was born September 23, 1940 in Monticello, Florida to the late Eugene and Clara Hill. He was a longtime resident of Tampa, Florida where he resided from an early age. He was employed at Ferman Chevrolet for 47 years and at Tampa Yacht Club for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jean and Willie Hill. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: a devoted and loving wife, Mattie M. Hill; children, daughter, Tracy Hill-Chiverton (Daron), step-daughters, Christine Jackson (James), Ernestine Mention, and Geraldine Powell (Basil); step-sons, Andrew Holloway and Chief Anthony Holloway (Andrea), MA; grandchildren, Jasmia Watkins, Sgt. Michael A. Reid, Jr., and Xavier Hill; great granddaughter, Zhamariah Hill; brothers, Henry Hill (Viola), NJ and David Hill (Shirley); sisters, Doretha Johnson (Jack), NJ and Mary Glover (Eddie); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, colleagues of the Tampa Yacht Club and Ferman Chevrolet. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at Bethel A.M.E at 10: 45 a.m. for the service.
