A Homegoing Celebration for Rev. Thomas J. Weeks, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 11:00 a.m. at First M.B. Church of Highland Pines, 4711 E. 21st Avenue, Rev. Cleveland Lane, pastor Bishop Adrian Weeks, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Jefferson Weeks was born on June 13, 1940 to the late Clifford and Iola Weeks in Providence, Florida. He attended the public school system in Union County. At the age of 23, Rev. Weeks was drafted into the United States Army and later at the age of 25 married Minnie P. Broome. He was born again at an early age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He served as an assistant Pastor at New Mount Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Hagan. Later, Rev. Weeks founded Northbay Missionary Baptist Church, served as Pastor for 22 years. Rev. Thomas Weeks was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph and Dennis Weeks, Johnnie Mae Godbolt, Bertha Maxwell, Lee Esther Harris, Mamie Curry, Monroe Weeks, Cleveland Weeks, Margaret Godbolt and Shedrick Perry. He leaves to cherish his memories with a devoted wife, Minnie Pearl Weeks; one son, Thomas J. Weeks, Jr.; one daughter, Yvette Denise Carr (Steven) of Douglasville, GA.; three grandchildren, Mia A'Niece Carr, Ashley Latoya Weeks and Demetrie Alan Weeks (Jerykah) of Vilseck, Germany; four great grandchildren, King D. Stanley, Kyro D. Carr, Ka'Liyah L. Stanley and Ashton Ruffin; siblings, Gertie L. Walker and Clifford McArthur Weeks; sisters-in-law, Rutha Mae Weeks, Katie Mae Weeks and Annie Mae Weeks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
