A Memorial service for Mr. Timothy DeWitt Williams, Sr. 'Big Tim' of Tampa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Rev. Yvonne Jackson, officiating. The interment will follow. Tim was born on December 20, 1956 in Tampa, Florida. Tim is the eldest son of Mr. James and Margaret Love of Tampa. Tim received Christ as his savior and was baptized May 7, 1970 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Timothy attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School completing the full 8th grade curriculum and graduating in 1974 from Tampa Catholic High School. Tim pursued culinary arts as his major at Hillsborough Community College, later becoming a chef for 25 years, having to retire due to medical issues. He spent time volunteering at the church. He remained an avid reader of books with many collections of current and outdated books. Tim kept active and enjoyed repairing and the restoring things. Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clearance McRae and Leola McRae-Jones, two uncles, Joseph W. McRae and Frederick McRae and aunt, Joyce McRae-Hillsman. Tim is survived by his parents, James and Margaret Love; son, Timothy Dewitt Williams, Jr.; brother, Eric Love; sister, Rita Thomas; uncles, Louie McRae (Ida) of San Diego, CA and Jerome Thompson (Kay) of St. Petersburg, FL; aunts, Rosalyn Simmons (Ike), Cynthia Cherry , Cathy Burrell (Tommy), Denise McRae all of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lilly Ruth Staley, Lula Richardson and Cynthia McRae, all of Tampa, FL; niece, Keyanie Love; nephew, Messiah Love; and a host of cousins and other loving family members. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Thursday for the memorial service.
