Tony Deshod
Monroe
January 21, 1977 – November 25, 2024
Tony Deshod Monroe, affectionately known as, "T Monroe", was born on January 21, 1977, to Alvin L. Monroe and Wilma Sherman. Those who knew Tony would describe him as a courageous soul who faced life's challenges with unwavering strength. He was loving and faith-filled, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand, and thoughtful. Professionally, Tony dedicated years of service to Marjon Specialty Food, Inc., where he was valued for his work ethic and commitment. He was also a successful entrepreneur, as the owner of Deshod LLC. Outside of work, he was a member of Proceeding Word Ministries, under the leadership of Apostle Faith Jackson. Tony enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and fishing. Tony's compassion was evident in his commitment to feeding the homeless, a testament to his loving and thoughtful nature.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Sherman; maternal grandparents, Troy and Freddie Lee Sherman; and paternal grandparents, Harold and JoAnn Daniels; aunt Harolyn Gunn; uncles, Robert Sherman, Sr., Mark Sherman, Sr., and Carlton Gunn; and cousin England Wilson. The family bonds were strong, and Tony was a shining light in the lives of all who were part of his extended family.
He is survived by father, Alvin L. Monroe; sisters, Tiffany Borders (Walters) and Tiara Monroe; aunts, Shirley Wilson, Carolyn Owens, Helen Johnson, and Marcella Oliver (Thony); uncle, Kenneth Monroe; nephews, Jayme Borders, Walter Borders, Jr., La'Trell Monroe, and Tyson Berry; niece, Tianna Berry; godmother, Elizabeth Williams; as well as a host of cousins. As we remember Tony, let us not forget his favorite quote, "Today is another day to be grateful." Tony made everyone around him feel valued and loved, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
