Homegoing service for Ms. Valeria Battle of Tampa who passed away, Saturday, July 27, 2013, will be held, Saturday, August 3rd, 3:00 p.m., at Mt. Pilgrim MB Church, 4000 5th Ave., St. Petersburg, FL 33711, Rev. Jerry Alexander, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Royal Palm North Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida. Valeria was born November 2, 1958 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late WC and Willie Mae (Williams) Banks. She was frequent visitor of Revealing Truth Ministries, Tampa and Mt. Zion Progressive M.B. Church, St. Petersburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family, travelling with her children, shopping for her grandchildren and hosting social activities at her home. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with her children, Antuan L. Banks, Ebone S. Battle and Kendra S. Banks; grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Faith Banks, Aaliyah Banks and Sanii Johnson; brothers, Frederick Brown and Stephen Banks, Sr.; sisters, Cassandra Giles, Cathleen Banks, Cynetha Banks, Anita Grant, Sophia Works and Jacinda Banks Gamble; niece, Alicia Johnson and a host of other nieces; nephews, Byron Dowdell and Joshua Adams and a host of other nephews; close cousin, Beverly Lunan-Thomas and a host of other cousins; close friends, Margie Rios and Kathy Pringley-Miller; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
