Valerie was born on July 28, 1965 in Tampa, FL to the late Roosevelt Scott, Sr., and Ethel Marie Hearn Scott. Family reunions held yearly in their place of origin for the family in Two Egg, Florida. She attended school in Hillsborough County. Valerie went on to become a registered nurse and worked in the Tampa Bay area caring for everyone she encountered. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and would make lots of pies and cakes. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Scott, Sr., mother, Ethel Marie Hearn Scott, brother, Roosevelt Scott, Jr., and Lionel Scott.

Valerie leaves cherished memories of her family and friends; brother, Jackie Hearns; aunts, Wilann Miller, Florita Lovett, and Shirley Wilson; favorite cousins, Donna Lovett and Tisha Wilson; best friends, Makeba Neal, Lalita Lovett and Phyllis Duck; Godparents and personal confidents, Sam and Barbara Jordon; a host of relatives throughout FL, The Scott's, The Long's, The Hearns and The Wilkes Families, as well as many others.
