Homegoing services for Mother Vanessie Tucker of, 1001 31st Avenue, who passed away Friday, July 3, 2010, will be held Saturday, July 10th , 11:00 a.m., Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Avenue, Elder Theodin Lane, Pastor, Bishop Dr. Billy G. Newton, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mother Vanessie Tucker was born January 18, 1914 in Calhoun County, Georgia. Mother Tucker was a loving wife and a faithful servant of the Lord at an early age. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Annie Holley; and her husband, Rosco Tucker; sons, James Tucker and Bobby Tucker. Mother Tucker is survived by her children, Rossie George, Willie Tucker, Sr., and Emma Jean Drew; grandchildren, Andrew George, Latisha George, Clarence Warren, Jr. (Vivian), Angela Washington (Gary), Delois Tucker, Willie James Tucker, Charles Tucker, Darryl Tucker, Tammy Tucker, Anthony Tucker, Barbara Reed (Ned), Darlene Reed, Pamela Tucker, Willie Tucker, Jr. (Cherise), Ricky Tucker, William Tucker and Robert Tucker; 46 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; brother, J.C. Holley (Johnnie Mae) of Orlando, FL; sisters, Mammie Rutha Gibson of Orlando, FL and Lillian Robinson of Edison, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Inez Holley of Orlando, FL, Maxine Holley of Orlando, FL, Oreada Brown-Pickett of Miami, FL, Essie Tucker of Columbia, SC and Marie Aikens of Miami, FL; brother-in-law, Horace Tucker of Miami, FL; god daughters, Laura Thomas of Edison, CA, and Juanita Jacob of Tampa, FL; the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 9th from 5-8 pm. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church by 10:45 a.m.
