She was born in Tampa, Florida to the late Ernest Leroy Black Hills, Sr., and Gladys Elizabeth Stewart Hills. Venola was preceded in death by siblings, Olivia Hills Santana, Mildred Hills Mills, James Hills,Ernest Jr. Hills, and Jeffery Hills; grandchildren, Corneius Floyd, Lance James Jr, Gary Washington and Stepfather Robert Forest. Venola was married to the late Oliver Jay Lynwood Sr. She grew up in the Baptist and Catholic Faiths Her grade school years were in Hillsborough and Pinellas County. Venola graduated from Howard W. Blake Class of "1970" where her grand uncle, James "Big Jim Williams was head coach. Venola was a member of the Marching Yellow Jackets Drill Team and Chorus. She was the Life of the party, and loved to cook, play cards and dance like no other. Before her health started to fail, she was employed with Tampa General Hospital (Environmental Services), and she later retired.
