Homegoing service for Mrs. Vera Lee Allen of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Faith Life Church, 4902 E. Busch Blvd., Pastors Larry and Jane McDonough, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Vera Lee Allen was born September 19, 1931 in Jasper, Florida. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Nelley Mathis, daughter, Frankie Dozier, grandson, Reche Williams, sisters, Mary Walker and Thelma Campbell, brother, James Mathis and uncle, Johnny Mathis. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with her devoted husband, Henry Allen; 2 daughters, Patricia Hudley (Waymon) and Ethel Thomas (Charles); sister, Velora Loper; grandchildren, Leonard Jones (Kimberly), Pamela Etienne (Away), Henry Jones, Angela Dumas, Debbie Williams (Deonta), Shasta Williams (Kelvin), Jason Peters, Colby Williams, Meloney Washington (Maurice), Veronica Wingfield, Gary Wingfield and Reginald Wingfield; great grandchildren, Ny'Riah Dumas, Khali Lyons, Leo Jazon, LeJavea, LaDarius and Lenard Jones, Eric and Brandon Bennett, Samuel Lewis, Johnarian Davis, Devante Hammond, Dontavio, Reche, Jr., Marquis, Dashane, Imani, Demtrius, Monique and Terry Williams, Zabeon and Noah McIntosh, Gary Walker, Latarra, Lacarra, Reginald and Diva Wingfield, Derrica and Victoria burden, Quincy Brown, Princess Thomas; nieces, Colista Quarterman and Georgia Rittenberry; nephews, Sonny Stanley and Roy Rainey; cousin, Willene Anderson and a host of other cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 11th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
