Homegoing services for Mrs. Vera Estella Hamilton of Tampa who passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011, will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 10:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., Pastor A.D. Shaw, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Vera was born on April 27, 1940 in Tampa, Florida. She was reared in a religious home by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry (Sallie) Verriett along with her brother and sister. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Middleton High School. Vera was united in marriage to Mr. Oree Hamilton on January 4, 1956. To this union 2 children were born, Linda D. Hamilton and baby girl Hamilton. Vera was preceded in death by her loving parents, husband, Oree Hamilton; aunts, Vera E. Miller, Ceola Bush, brother, Rev. Dr. Charles H. Verriett, Sr., and brother-in-law, Jack O. Edwards, Sr. Vera leaves to mourn and cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Linda D. Hamilton of Tampa; loving and devoted granddaughter, Salkeir A. Hamilton, Tampa; loving and devoted sister, Betty Jean Edwards, Inkster, MI; two sisters-in-law, Delores Verriett, Tampa and Maeree Russaw, Eufaula, AL; eight nieces, Jacquelyn O'Neal, Yvettezoe Martinez (Michael), Yolunda Edwards and Latorro Edwards, all of Inkster, MI, Debra Williams, Tampa, Carlo Verriett, Halifax, NC, Zandra Verriett and Brittany Fields of Tampa; seven nephews, Jack O. Edwards, Jr., (Sandy), Los Banos, CA, Evido Edwards, Inkster, MI, Eric Edwards, Irving, TX, Sain-R Edwards (Raquel), Inkster, MI, Gynaro Milian and Reynaldo Milian (Valerie), all of Tampa and Charles Verriett, Jr., Atlanta, GA; and a host of grandnephews and nieces, great grandnephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives, god sisters, godbrothers and many special friends. There will be no viewing Friday or Saturday. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel at 9:45 a.m. for the service on Saturday.
