A memorial service for Mr. Verlie Gay of Tampa, Florida who passed away on January 13, 2020 will be held on Friday, January 24th, 1:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Pastor Gregory Gay, officiating. The interment will follow. Verlie was born on January 19, 1962 in Plant City, FL to the late Verlie Gay, Sr. and Eula Mae Flowers. He enjoyed carpentry and playing the saxophone. He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories with his wife, Patty Denise Gay; stepchildren, Erik Emanuel Washington (Aisha) of Plant City, FL, Miriam S. Baggett, Kamesha C. Baggett, Jah-Carvis R. Hagens and Leonard L. Thomas III all of Tampa; grandchildren, Erik M. Washington, Jr., Kaliona Molina, Joel Molina, Kai (Buster) and Ne'kelius Hagens; mother, Eula Mae Gay, Sr.; brothers, Daniel P. Gay and Steven L. Griffieth both of Saginaw, MI; sisters, Sherri Gay-Baker (Charzell) of Tampa, Ajhani A. Owusu of Saginaw, MI, Eula M. Gay, Jr. of Plant City, FL and Linda A. Gay DeBardelaben (Ryan) of Grand Rapids, MI; aunts, Betty Boswell of Plant City, FL, Dr. Mozella Lennon (Charles) of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, Virginia Johnson of Chicago, IL, Lois Gay and Merlyn Williams (Melvin) of Plant City, FL; uncles, Rev. Joe L. Gay, Sr., Claude gay and Jay Flowers of Plant City, FL; special nephew, Darian Tyvon Debardelaben; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; best friends, Todd Balog and Stan White; godbrother, Rodney Polk and a host of other relatives and friends.
