December 28, 1931 – March 20, 2024
Vianda Harris was born on December 28, 1931, to the late Robert Wilson and Mae Ola Bryant. She attended elementary and high school in Thomasville, GA, graduating from Douglass High School class of 1950. She was baptized at Clifford Temple Christian Methodist Church as a youth. She moved to St. Petersburg, FL shortly after graduating. She enjoyed life as a young woman in St. Petersburg, FL even being crowned Queen of a local organization. She married Ernest Harris on October 20,1955. They raised three daughters until he passed away in 1992. She worked at Florida National Bank as a graph typist, proof operator and bookkeeper for 21 years.
She also worked at TJ Maxx and Martel Mapping Laboratories before officially retiring. She married, Ernest Harris as a young woman. She was a faithful member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL until she returned to Thomasville, GA 2008. When she returned, she reinstated her membership at Clifford temple until 2011 when she moved to Tampa, FL.
Family members that preceded her in death, husband, Ernest Harris; mother, Mae Ola Bryant, Father, Robert Wilson; sister, Catherine Brown; brother, Bobby Wilson; daughter, Deborah L. Pounds and nephew, Al Wilson.
She is survived by; daughters, Linda F. Pitman (John) of Port Orange, Fl and Ernestine Moss (James)of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Michael Pounds ( LaSeandria) and Natalie Pounds of Maryland, Adrian Ravenel ( Kimmy) of Wimauma, FL, Joshua Harris (Alyssa) of Utah, LaTosha Jones of Cummings, GA, Alicia and Ashlee Moss of Tampa, FL; nieces Sandra Lowery of Bowie Maryland, Felecia Wilson of St. Petersburg, FL and nephew, Bobby Coston ( Annie Ruth) of St. Petersburg, FL. Six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, along with a host of other relatives. Special thanks to Yvonne Auguste, her CNA caregiver for the past four years. She truly has been our extended family. We also thank numerous other healthcare professionals for their assistance in caring for her, including but not limited to ARNP Sherri Ricottone.
