Vickie was born August 11, 1965, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Willie James Conner, Sr.
and Ola Mae Conner. She graduated from Hillsborough High School, class of 1983.
Vickie was a God fearing, praying woman that was family oriented, kindhearted, lovable,
and the humblest person you could have ever known. She was most definitely the life of
any party. As a determined single mother, she expanded her education by gaining
numerous degrees and certifications such as a medical assistant, in the culinary arts,
cosmetology, and in early childhood education. She then ventured into owning and
operating several successful businesses, including: Vickies Hair Shop, Vickies Interior
Design and Vickies Sweet Treats. Shes best known for lighting up many of her fathers
successful bars, such as: Lil Bros, Bop City, and Broadway Bar. Vickie was also an
outstanding and most dedicated employee with a variety of employers, including:
Merchants Association, Wachovia Bank, Cassandras Home Daycare, and Mikes Pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie James Conner, Sr. and Ola Mae Conner;
life partner, Roy Macon; sister, Jaqueline Welch; brothers, Achilious Conner and Willie
Conner, Jr., stepbrother, Lenorris Clinton; aunt, Arlie Lee Walker; uncles, Jerry
Haugabook, Isaiah Oliver, and William Oliver; nephews, Aubrey Conner, and Ernest
Fisher, Jr.; niece, Gloria Clinton.
