Mrs. Virgie Nell (Frazier) Miles was born in Osierfield, Georgia on December 2, 1939, to the late Albert Lee White, Sr. and Allie Fair (Joyner) White. She was the second oldest of nine children born to this union. Mrs. (Frazier) Miles received her formal education at Queensland High School in Fitzgerald, Georgia and later moved to the state of Florida, where she was a resident of the Progress Village community in Tampa for more than 60 years. She was employed by and managed the home of Dr. Stuart (Jerilyn) Goldsmith for over 30 years. Virgie (Frazier) Miles loved God and was a faithful member of St. James (now known as Victory) AME Church in Progress Village, where she was a long-standing member of the Women’s Missionary Society and the Stewardess Board. Virgie was a shining reflection of God’s grace on this earth and a woman whose life was a living testament to faith, hope, and love. She walked through this world with a loving heart and a remarkably kind spirit, offering a friendly smile and a warm welcome to everyone who crossed her path. 

Guided by the teachings of Christ, Virgie was boundlessly generous with her time, resources, and affection, living a selfless life that continually put the needs of others above her own. Her thoughtful nature meant no quiet struggle went unnoticed and no joy went uncelebrated. Even in the face of life’s greatest trials, she stood anchored in her devotion, demonstrating a courageous strength that inspired all who knew her, leaving behind a sacred legacy that will forever light our way. Virgie was an amazing cook who took great joy in preparing meals for her family and friends. Sundays after church were special, as everyone was welcome to stop by and enjoy a delicious home-cooked feast. Her savory collard greens, flavorful potato salad, and golden, moist pound cake were family favorites and a reflection of the love she poured into everything she prepared. Virgie also had a green thumb and a deep love for gardening. She could often be found tending to her yard, pulling weeds, watering her plants, and taking pride in the beauty she cultivated around her home. 

Mrs. (Frazier) Miles was preceded in death by seven of her siblings and her husbands James Frazier and James Miles. She departed this earthly life to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, August 15, 2026. 

Virgie (Frazier) Miles leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Bunnie Benton (Charles Pruitt, friend), Shawn Frazier (Idonna); grandchildren, Michael Oliver, Jr. (Katrina), Shani Cadwell (Nathan), Briana Frazier, Ciera Frazier and Alexandria Frazier; great-grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Jada Smith, Campbell Oliver, Jayden Barnes, Michael Oliver III, Ayden Pickens, Taharri Nutt, Nia Irvin, Aria Gallon, Treyce Frazier and Tylin Tolbert; brother, Albert Lee White, Jr.; close family friend and caregiver, Earnestine Pringley, and a host of other adored nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
