Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Vivian Antoinette Norton Smith of Tampa, who passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, will be held on Saturday, July 19th, 2:00 p.m. at New Greater Friendship Church, 4413 N. 35th Street, Rev. Madison Murray, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Sister Vivian Antoinette Norton Smith (aka Toni Bones) was born on November 11, 1955 in Tampa, Florida to the late Melvin Norton, Sr. and Vivian Guzman Norton. She was the second child of the five born to this union. She married Willie Buster Smith and to their union they were blessed with 2 daughters. She worked at St. Joseph Women's Hospital for 15 years. She was a faithful member of New Greater Friendship M.B. Church until her health declined. She was a member of the Murray Choir and president of the youth choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Smith, son, Andre Norton Bowles; father, Melvin Norton, Sr.; grandparents, Edith Norton and Vivian Guzman; niece and nephew, Anesha and Carlos Reneto Cummings. She leaves to cherish beautiful memories with 2 loving daughters, Loretta Smith White (Chris) and Teresa Smith Bates (Donald); a loving mother, Vivian Guzman Norton; 5 grandchildren, Andre Norton, Jr., Jeramiah Smith, D'Andre, Andrea and Heaven Norton; a devoted sister, Andrea Norton Cummings (Darryl); 3 brothers, Melvin Norton, Jr. (Candi), Henry Norton (Traci) and Carl Norton, Sr., (Q); aunts, Doris Norton Bryant, Lavern Norton Collins, Marie Guzman, Shirley Guzman Black (Frank), Margaret Guzman Woodie and Marjorie Guzman McGee (Alfred); special aunt, Carolyn Guzman Sesler (Lloyd); uncle, Costello Guzman (Harriett); 10 nieces, Tumeka (Jimmy), Nakaya (Mike), Katrina (Tony), Atiya, Shaquitta, Carmille, Vivian and Akaya; 2 special nieces, Evita and Kalvina; 5 great nieces; 1 great-great niece; 7 nephews, Marlon, Carl, Jr., Kevrick, Henry, Jr., Curtis and Jaquez Norton; special nephew, Darryl Cummings, Jr; 8 great nephews; 1 great-great nephew; sister-in-law, Carmilla Green and the Smith family; niece-in-law, Claretha; daughter-in-law, Cammy Norton; a devoted goddaughter, Crystal Boyers and children, Destiny, Aniyah, Jordan and Zarina; special cousins, Beverly Lett Todd, Natalie Siegler, Jackie Mickens and Derrick Woodie; friends, Carolyn Flowers, Rosemary Anderson, Connie Lane, Archie Ridlege, Mattie Murray and other family and friends including the Norton's, Sester, Guzman, Jenkins, Issac, Buie, Lawrence, Russell, Woodall and Watson family's and the New Greater Friendship Church family; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at New Greater Friendship Church on Friday, July 18th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
