Obituary

Mr. Wallace G. Dexter was born on November 13, 1939, in Tampa, FL, to Zeron, Sr. and Mary Dexter. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1958 and served as a Specialist E4 in the Army. After 33 years at Florida Steel, he retired and now has received his final assignment on January 21, 2026.

Mr. Wallace Dexter was a man of deep love, strong faith, and joyful spirit. He had a lifelong passion for baseball, with a special place in his heart for the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Mets. When he wasn't cheering on his favorite teams, Wallace enjoyed fishing, visiting the casino, following horse racing, and spending time at church, where his faith and kindness shone through.

He was a dedicated church trustee, a man who feared God, and one who truly enjoyed worship and fellowship in the Lord's house. Above all else, Wallace was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished brother. He was known for his heart of gold, his positive outlook on life, and his ability to connect with people wherever he went. A true people person, Wallace had a warm presence and a great spirit that uplifted those around him. He also coached Little League in Belmont Heights for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeron, Sr., and Mary Dexter; siblings, Harold, Sr., Carolyn Joyce; son, Chris, Sr.; grandson, Chris, Jr.; and nephew, Christian.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Cheryl; daughters, Gina (Kenny), Minini, Faun (Mike), and Sharese; sons, Michael, Shawn (Tangela), and Sherrard (Lisa); brother, Zeron, Jr., sister, Linda; mother-in-law, Cassie; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and close friends.
