A homegoing celebration for Mr. William Francis 'Ned' of Tampa, Florida who passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 will be held Saturday, June 15th, 2:00 p.m. at Rivers of Life Church, 301 Lakewood Dr. Pastor Curtis A. Swafford, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. William was born January 30, 1954 in St. Catherine, Jamaica to the parents of Isaiah Francis and Merline Thomas. William was the true definition of a countryman, after leaving Jamaica, he took on many different jobs. He worked as a longshoreman at the Tampa Shipyard, a short while after he begin working for the University of South Florida, where he retired of 25 years. Meanwhile he maintained his own landscaping business. William had such a kind soul always wanting the best for the next person. He never like confrontations with anyone. He always enjoyed collecting his junk as well as listening to his reggae music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah Francis and Merline Thomas; brother, Arthur Roofe. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Francis; children, Rickey Godbolt, Isaiah Francis and Kenyata Francis; god-daughter, Kerline Darkins; granddaughter, Lyric Godbolt; brothers, Austin Chambers, Sylvester Heslop and Sigismond Heslop (Angie); sisters, Claudette Francis-Rapisarda, Lawlette Francis-Milton, Cynthia Roof-Laidlaw and Lesia Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
