Celebration of life service for Mr. Willie James Green "Buddy" will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2511 E. Columbus Drive, Pastor Walter Williams with Pastor Calvin Green, of True Life Community Worship Center, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Green was born December 15, 1947 in Lee County, Georgia to Mrs. Willie Mae James and the late Gordon Green. He was preceded in death by sister, Geraldine "Boot" Pierce and brother-in-law, James L. Brown. Our beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He was an avid fisherman and loved working on cars. He leaves loving memories with four sons: Darrell Lewis, Otis Green, Pastor Calvin Green and wife, Angela and step-son, Reshea Green and wife, Nikisa; two daughters: Sholette Saunders and husband, Carl and Telisa Green; a loving and devoted mother: Willie Mae James; grandchildren: Je'hoshua Bromell, Javon'te Bromell, Corey Saunders, Halston Green, Tyler Green, Alandria Green, Calvin Green Jr., Rakia Lewis, Nicole Lewis, Marquis Green, Antonio Gilmore, Shanika Green, Omeika Robinson, Ranita Robinson, Otirra Green, Sabrina Green, Otis Green Jr., Reshard Green, Shay'Avaun Green, Adrian Green, Marcia Green, My'on Brown, and D'azia Brown; Five sisters: Ernestine Brown (Leslie, GA), Rosa Williams (Baltimore, MD), Verdell Mickens, Shirley James and Denise (Archester) Newsome, all of Tampa, uncle: Donald Marshall; aunt: Maudie Marshall; three godsisters: Earline Williams, McKay Williams and Janice Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
