Mr. Willie Lee Pearson, 74, of 2204 24th Avenue departed this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Mr. Pearson was born May 5, 1935 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Eugene and Willie Mae Richardson. He was educated in Orangeburg, South Carolina and was last employed by Lyle Simpson as a concrete finisher. Son, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, met and married Jannie V. Mitchell. To this union four children were born. Son enjoyed singing and was loved by many family and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; daughter, Evelyn D. Pearson; sister, Elouise Richardson; nephews, Andrew F. Belin and Calvin Richardson; brothers-in-law, Andrew Belin and Eddie Gauntt; He leaves to cherish his fond memories: daughter, Laverne Pearson (John); sons, Willie Pearson, Jr. (Becky), June Pearson (Angela) and Rex Pearson; grandchildren, Trecia Norwood, Joshua Davis and Lashawn Pearson-Casteel; great-grandchildren, Shaniquia Johnson, Dayqwain Norwood, Rashad Mincy, Leighland Davis, Christian, Christina, Charles Christopher Casteel, Latisha, Latosha, Lazora and Tony Daniels; sisters, Louise Belin and Mary Richardson; aunts, Helen Walker and Frances Richardson, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; uncle, Jimmy Mack; nieces, Linda Lee (L.T.), Carolyn Williams, of South Carolina, Judy V. Evans, Angela Daniels (Michael), Jacqueline Gauntt, Valerie Gauntt, Glynis Belin and Tecie Belin; great nieces, Kenya Henry, Danika Daniels, Andrea and Artina Evans, Janishika, Latoria and Chandra Lee; nephews, Harold Richardson, Jr. and wife, Toni, Vincent Richardson, Eric Richardson, Algernon Belin and wife, Connie, Antonio Belin and wife, Rhonda, Eddie Gauntt, Jr., Algernon, Jr., Antwan, Phillip Belin, Adrian Belin and Anquawn Stovall; and a host of cousins, other sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Friday, May 29, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m.
