A Private Homegoing Service for Mrs. Willie Lee Peoples Lundy of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020, will be held on Friday, July 17th, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Min. Jackie Dennis, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. 'Mother' as she was affectionately called, was born in Washington, Texas on October 26, 1920. She resided in Tampa, Florida for over 75 years. She was a member of the West Tampa Baptist Church, Church of God in Christ and 40th Street Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and the 'Best Mother' to many in the Tampa Bay Area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Winters, Sr., and Gertrude M. Yarborough; brothers, Nelson Winters, Jr., Palmon M. Winters, Jr. and Andrew Winters, Sr.; sisters, Virginia Sanders, Corddic Winters and Elvalia Winters King; daughter, Margaret Mixon; son, Ray Spiller and grandson, Courtney Yates. She leaves to cherish her legacy, her children, Edward Spiller of Lamar, Texas, Alyce M. Crawford, Bandy Peoples, Jr., Ruby Standers, Larry Peoples, Curtis Lee Peoples, Judy Peoples-Collins, Twanda Yates and Donna Peoples-Davis; loving grandchildren, Vicky Dallas, Dino Water, James Spillers, Jocaby, Leonard and Michael Mixon, Teresa Crawford Pandales, Arthur Crawford, Jr., Timothy Peoples, Antolia Rose, Angela Jenkins, Rhonda, Charles, Juan, Kizzy and Alana Peoples, Donald, Donetta, and Sophia Collins, Clifford and Jovan Yates, Erica Brodnick, Christian Davis, Carl and Cevin Littles, Carvia and Dreama Harris, Alphonso Evans, Antolia Doris and K'en Goodman; 46 great grandchildren; 26 great great grandchildren; 19 great great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Walker Peoples and wife, Lillie and family; sisters-in-law, Minnie Peoples and family, and Mary Lee Dennis and family; a host of nieces and nephews; her life-long best friend, Maybelle Hickmon and family, dear friends, Bettie Bell and family, Nonnie Stephens and family, Pugh, Eskridge, Brodnick, Raiford, Chester, Harris, Perry, Collins, Yates and Kilgore families and the families of Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, Texas who all will dearly miss her. The visitation will be held on Friday, July 17th one hour prior to the service from 11:00-12:00 p.m. We are following the CDC guidelines.
