Obituary

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Willie Maxwell, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, will be held on Thursday, November 30th, 1:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Dea. Pierre Maxwell, Sr. eulogist. Willie Maxwell, Sr. was born May 20, 1936 in Mulberry, Florida to the late Willie J. Maxwell and Rebecca Baker. He was affiliated with Peace Baptist Church. Mr. Maxwell was a truck driver and enjoyed singing. He was also a mason and loving father. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosetta Maxwell; daughter, Phyllis Maxwell; sons, Charles and James Maxwell; brother, Rudolph Baker; sister, Wanda Baker; aunt, Mildred Williams; grandchildren, Michael Gordon, Brittany Lawson, Dontae Leslie, and Larryettel and cousin, Lilia. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his children, Janice Sturks (Donald), Cynthia Duncan (Andrew), Michelle Harris (James), Ruby Scott (Barry), Otella Lowe (Reggie),Valarie Lawson (Darryl), Andre Maxwell (Shearon), Frederick Maxwell, Pierre Maxwell, Sr. (Shareika), Willie Maxwell, Jr. (Ann), and Melvin Tolbert (Marlene); grandchildren, Lamar, Donald, Yvonne, Ivory, Pierre, Jr., Nehemiah, Soraya, Kaletra, L'asia, Jamecia, James, Jr., Jazzmia, Marcus, Nichelle, Ashley, Alonzo, Serenity, Tierra, Ikarl, Danion, Alonzo, Tierra, Alfonzo, Shykial, Patrick, Essence and Shamarre; great grandchildren, Eugene, Jr., Kenyon, Zion, Eumarre, Armoni, Tiyanna, Alonzo, Azyria, Lyrick, La Jah, Bella, Jade, Sage, Kay, Darius, Major, Jr., McKenzie, Jada, Tierra, Tiana, Asaiah, Jeran, Ajayla, Zayonna, Alonzo, Tristen, Kayla, Keahonna, Karim and Jamal; brother, Ernest Dawson, Sr.; brother-in-law, Willie Clark; sister-in-law, Ruthie Paul Dillon; aunt, Hazel Baker Lowe; nieces, Ebony, Linda, Danielle, Kayla, Janice, Catherine, Terri and Marie; nephews, Lawerence, Malachai, Ernest, Jr., Matthew, Aaron and David; cousins, Lois Hunter, Rudine, Lewis, Rosalie, Harold, Adeline and Glenda; other relatives and special friends, Clevetta McHenry, Evelyn Brown, Nurse Lakeisha Raines, Hospice, United Health Care and Mobile Physicians. The visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Thursday for the service.
