Obituary

Homegoing Service for Pastor Willie J. McDaniel, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 11:00 a.m. at Northside M.B. Church, 5706 N. 40th Street, Pastor Ricardo Robinson, with Pastor Al Gallon of New Testament M.B. Church, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor McDaniel was born in Ideal, Georgia in 1941. He married Catherine McDaniel on April 14, 1975 and they raised 4 children and his nephew, as his son. He matured and developed a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was called to the ministry, under the leadership of Pastor W.E. Webb of, Friendly M.B. Church. He was a profound speaker and singer of the gospel and pastored Mt. Olive M.B. Church for 27 years. He then retired and rejoined Friendly M.B. Church. Pastor McDaniel loved fishing and enjoyed his home and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine McDaniel; mother, Willie Ella Baisden; father, Willie J. McDaniel, Sr.; brother, Aaron McDaniel; sisters, Mary Ann Billington and Mattie Mae McDaniel, nephew; James Billington and brother-in-law, Floyd Billington. He leaves to cherish his memories with his children, Michael Daniel (Tracey), Marcus A. Billington (Sarah), Fredrick Daniel (Sherry), Florita Daniel and Luetheal Young (Javan); brothers, Hayward McDaniel (Mary), Major McDaniel (Eloise) and Albert McDaniel (Sherry); sisters, Georgia Mae Billington and Mattie Ruth McDaniel (Wade); aunts, Jessie Mae All and Hattie Mae Coney; brother-in-law, Booker T. Woodley (Carrie); sister-in-law, Dorothy Hayes; nieces and nephews, Latonya D., Tameka and Amanda Billington, Hayward, Jr., Noland, India, Lucie, Arrissell, Anthony and wife, Michael and wife and Carry McDaniel, Glorianne Billington Stevens (Bobby), Maria Carter and husband, Stephanie and Stephania Billington, Jennifer Hendrick, Emma Baisden, Darrell and Roy Smith, Ella Francine Hayes, Shanqua Kendrick and Marlon D. Hayes (Monica); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends; the Hoston, Grimmage, Baldwin and Brinson families, Mt. Olive M.B. Church and Friendly M.B. Church. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 23rd, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
