A Private Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Willie J. Mitchell, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 will be held Saturday, April 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Willie J. Mitchell, Jr. was born September 23, 1969 in Tampa, Florida. He was affectionately known as 'Chill'. He graduated from Robinson High School, class of 1987. He was a season ticket holder, avid sportsman and loved Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Tampa Bay Lighting. He was actively involved in the community as a supporter of many events. He was a Hillsborough County Deputy Sheriff and retired after 23 years of service. He was a passionate mentor to the youth of Tampa Bay. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Mitchell. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his father, Willie Mitchell, Sr, of Tampa, Florida; sister, Wendy Mitchell of Baltimore, Maryland; nieces, Alice of Akins, South Carolina, Alexandria and Alisha Mitchell; nephew, Anthony Mitchell; devoted classmates and friends, Patrick Toney (Arie), Shawn Torres (Tina), Robert Norman (Tracy), Jesse Fullen, James Wilkins, Mark Herrera (Carie), John Jennewein, Kim Mott and Kevin Frey. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The immediate family and friends and asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service. The service will be live streamed for the family and friends who cannot attend.

Due to recent events, the Federal, State and Local Government has limited the number of attendees topublic and private gatherings (including funerals/memorial services) to no more than 10 people.
