A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Willie Mitchell, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on August 30, 2021, will be held on Saturday, September 11th, 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cathedral 3401 Bishop Eddie Newkirk Way, Blvd. Tampa, Florida 33605, Pastor Tony Parker, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park cemetery.

Willie was born December 10, 1960, to George Mitchell Sr. and Carrie Mitchell. Willie relocated to Tampa, FL in 1973. He was educated in Hillsborough County public schools, and graduated from King High School, class of 1978, and enlisted in the US Navy shortly after graduating. He later met and married Angela Vann in 2006. Willie was a 16 year City of Tampa Employee who enjoyed, and he took pride in serving his customers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Willie Mae, and brother Edward. He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Angela Katina Mitchell; children, Carrie Eloise Mitchell, Natasha Leeann Mitchell, Willie Mitchell II, Kawanna NaKay Vann, Jeremiah Vann, Joseph Story, and Unique Rivero; grandchild, Heavyn Watkins; mother-in-law, Betty Wells; brother, George Mitchell, Jr.; brother-in-law, Albert Perry; sisters, Verdelle Mitchell Reaves, and Lucinda R. Mitchell, and sister-in-law, Martha Perry; aunts, Julia Hudson, Flora Alexander, and Odell Virgil; nieces, T. Renee Maura, Kimberly D. Chaney, Sheridan House, Towanda Mitchell, Shanetta Barnett (Delroy), Carmika Mitchell, Denishia Sims, and Shaderria Bland; Andre N. Coachman, Jermaine L. Coachman, George Mitchell, III, Demetrius Davenport, and DeAndre Coachman; and a host of loving family and friends.

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 10th from 4:00 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at St. John Cathedral for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
